Food for fertility - Must-have foods when trying to conceive

Is it possible to improve your fertility by eating certain foods? Yes, it absolutely is. It is crucial to remember that while there is no secret diet that guarantees pregnancy, food and lifestyle choices do have an impact on both women's and men’s reproductive health. Through their

impact on your stomach, blood flow, hormone levels, and overall health, the foods you eat, coupled with other factors like lifestyle and stress levels, can help you conceive. Functional Nutritionist Mugdha Pradhan, CEO and Founder of iThrive suggests must-haves for those who are trying to conceive. Take a look at the list.

02/11Salmon

Salmon is a fertility all-star because it’s high in omega-3 fatty acids, which help balance your reproductive system and keep you as healthy as possible. It’s also high in protein and almost devoid of the harmful levels of mercury found in many other fishes.

When attempting to conceive, salmon is a fantastic alternative to red meat, as red meat is high in saturated fats and may limit your ability to conceive.

03/11Organ meats

Most organ meats are good sources of numerous vitamins and minerals, including many of the B-Vitamins, iron, and zinc. Include some kind of organ meat in your regular diet, but make sure you practice portion control while having it.

04/11Shellfish

Shellfish is normally safe to eat when trying to conceive, but make sure it’s thoroughly cooked to avoid food illness. Sushi that has been frozen and then defrosted properly, as well as fish that has been completely smoked, salted, or pickled, are generally safe to eat.

05/11Whole Eggs

Eggs are generally cited as one of the most effective foods for encouraging fertility since they are high in protein, Vitamins B12 and E, and often packed with beneficial monounsaturated fats like DHA. Look for eggs that include DHA or other omega-3 fatty acids if you are having problems picking out an egg at the grocery store.

Before cooking, make sure you don’t throw out the yolk, as it contains the majority of the fertility-enhancing elements
