3 suspects in gold-buying shop robbery in Tarkwa arrested
In connection with a robbery attack on a gold-buying store in Akoon-Tarkwa in the Western Region, the police have detained three suspects.
On April 18, 2023, the suspects Ezekiel Stephen Oghenekaro, Samuel Amoashie, and Fatawu Awudu, along with three other suspects, attacked the gold-buying business and fled with an undisclosed sum of money.
Following the attack, the Police conducted an operation against the gang the same day, and three of the suspects were captured in the nearby bush near the townships of Esuosu and Benso.
A search conducted on them in the bush led to the retrieval of three motorbikes and a sack fully loaded with an unspecified amount of money believed to be the booty from their attack on the shop.
All the suspects were subsequently put before the Tarkwa District Court on April 21, 2023, and have been remanded into lawful custody to re-appear on May 3, 2023.
