Umar Farouk Aliu Mahama says the remark was a foolish one.
He says the disappointment of Mr Kyerematen to reduce most, if not all, connection with it will hurt the fortunes of the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 General Election.
"The issue is that you don't have a main part like Hopeson on the mission of our senior sibling Alan Kyerematen for him to be talking like that and saying that northerners should be VPs that is what it will be.
"It is a foolish assertion and I mean even Alan Kyerematen ought to move away from that thing since it can hurt us later on," he told Nana Jantuah on Nhyira FM's Kuro Yi Mu Nsem show.
Mr Adorye is claimed to have said "in the NPPs custom, Northerners are good for the running mate position" during a wellbeing walk named 'Stroll for Alan' held in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
