The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has welcomed the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ashanti Gold, Albert Commey to help with examinations concerning claims he made that the last a long time of the fair finished Ghana Premier League season were fixed.
Mr Commey, a previous Aduana Stars CEO, talking in a meeting with Sunyani-based Space FM, said various matches, including the ones between his club and Bibiani Goldstars which finished 2-2; and King Faisal and Legon Cities which King Faisal won 2-1, were fixed.
He likewise claimed that Hearts of Oak's 4-1 home loss to RTU, which ensured the Tamale club's endurance in the Ghana Premier League, was fixed.
"The Ghana Premier League was cutthroat yet wasn't content with the last day since there were loads of fixed games. RTU never dominated any game away. AshGold v Bibiani Gold Stars was fixed. Ponders v Aduana was fixed. Lord Faisal versus Legon Cities was fixed," Commey said.
"Regularly when it gets to that time, clubs need to make due. FA has barely any insight into it. How would you consider Hearts Oak will lose by 4 objectives. Did you watch them yesterday? We ought not be charlatans or we won't advance. I'm a Hearts fan, I'm telling you," he added.
The GFA says it has booked a gathering with Commey for Friday, July 9, 2022, at 2 pm.
"The GFA has reminded the two authorities that the FIFA and GFA Codes of Ethics force obligations on football members to help the Association and FIFA in destroying such ills from the game-the Duty to Disclose and the Duty to Cooperate," the FA's assertion said.
