Emerge Ghana Demo: Police began pelting stones - Sammy Gyamfi affirms
Public Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has blamed the Ghana Police Service for being the ones who began Tuesday's stone-pelting during the exhibition by Arise Ghana.
Talking on Adom FM's morning show, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, Mr Gymafi said the police established officials among dissenters and entrusted them to pelt stones to have a reason to mistreat demonstrators.
"The principal individual who tossed the stone was not so much as a protestor however a cop in Arise Ghana shirts. Our kin captured the individual and sent him to the police however the police safeguarded the individual.
"The way and way that man of his word continued entering the police headquarters, drawing in the police and the photos accessible to us, shows he is a cop and there were more officials in their fog," he claimed.
Mr Gymafi said his gathering has picture proof to back the cases.
Arise Ghana Demo
A demonstration that was expected to proceed peacefully on Tuesday ended in chaos after the Police resorted to using tear gas to disperse the crowd who pelted stones at officers and service vehicles.
According to the Ghana Police Service, 12 of its officers on duty sustained various injuries and had to be taken to the hospital for medical care.
In addition, parts of Police vehicles used to convey officers to provide protection for the protesters have been damaged
