The Ajumako Police Command is examining an instance of attack on a columnist of the Ghana News Agency, Prince Acquah, by a crowd for shooting a fight during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Constituency chief political race.
The quarrel, which almost damaged the generally serene political decision at the Ajumako Campus of the University of Education, was over monies imparted to the agents for transportation.
They asserted they were "ransacked" by some party chiefs who gave them ¢20 rather than the ¢50communicated to them through a reminder.
Mr Acquah said he was recording the occurrence as a feature of his report on the political race when a portion of individuals saw him and addressed him.
His clarification of being a writer with the GNA didn't prevent them from attacking him as they pushed him around trying to hold onto his telephone, however he stood up to.
Mr Acquah let the police know that he was blamed for being a specialist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who had invaded the positions of the NPP to "annihilate the party."
"I have never met a portion of the aggressors, yet they demanded they knew me as an individual from the NDC from the electorate and that my main mission there was to obliterate the NPP," he said.
"Like a crook, I was pushed down once more and arrived on an ant colony dwelling place and had minor injuries to my left side lower leg," he told this journalist.
The ideal mediation of Jonathan Addo, a previous Coordinator, Isaac Fosu, the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Coordinator of the NPP, and some cops working at the political race place saved the circumstance, Acquah said.
The police needed to erase the video of the occurrence from his telephone before the group would scatter, he said, and that the telephone was subsequently given over to him and he left the middle without covering the decisions.
He was given a police structure to look for clinical treatment.
